This is the Travel Guitar I built for myself in 2022. I have used it extensively and it has wear and tear on it. Own a custom Mark Gutierrez at a fraction of the cost.
Specs:
- Honduran Mahogany neck
- Sapele body
- Quilted maple top
- Carbon Fiber D-Tube Neck Beam (no truss rod)
- 24-inch scale length (like a Fender Jaguar)
- Nova Guitar parts hardware
- Active EMG SA pickup
- Recessed strap locks
- Tuned to C Standard using D'addario 12-60 strings
Lots of interesting things going on with this build. First there is no truss rod. It has a carbon fiber D-tube instead. You can google it. It essentially makes the neck impervious to movement. So humidity and temperature changes don't affect the neck stability. Perfect for traveling. The pickup is hidden inside the custom mahogany tear-drop shaped cover. In order to have zero screws showing, I used magnets to hold the pickup down. So don't go doing any acrobatics on stage with this guitar. Guitar is a 24-inch scale length so it is exactly like a Fender Jaguar. I have it tuned to baritone tuning. C-Standard using heavy gauge strings. If you want to put lighter gauge strings and tune to standard tuning, you might need to adjust the nut slots. Guitar has a battery in there already, so just plug and play. Take it wherever you want anywhere in the world. it may even fit in your suitcase.
